I've been at it again. Just added over 100 new pictures from the Seward fishing trip earlier in the summer and a backpacking trip in the park last week. Other than almost walking straight into a mother grizzly bear and her two cubs, it was a great trip.

Back Again
I realize its been over a month since my last post - have no fear, I have not fallen into the clutches of a hungry grizzly bear or a Caribou in the middle of mating season. A combination of being busy actually doing things and inconsistent internet access have cause me to become a bit lapse. However, Ive been busy exploring and taking pictures. Ive added a couple of new albums to the picture gallery. You'll notice the "Seward Trip" gallery is almost empty - my camera ran out of batteries on the trip down....HOWEVER, I am getting a hold of pictures from that trip and will add them eventually. A little FYI - the "Moontower" is Nick and Merideth's cabin. Since it is bright all day there is no moon, and there is no tower either. Reference "Dazed & Confused" for further explanation. I'm trying to get better with captions, but alas, I'm still pretty lazy. The most recent trip was a camping trip to Coldfoot, AK - about 60 miles north of the Arctic Circle (don't rely on your compass though, it will point east instead of north.) I'll post more when I update again!

more pictures added
I got a chance to upload some more pictures from this winter - I think thats pretty much all of 'em. I also put up some pictures from recent hikes up Sugarloaf mtn and Mt Margret. Sugarloaf is right here in the canyon and Margret is about 15 miles into the park. This is a picture from Sugarloaf looking down at the McKinley Chalets on the right, the Princess on the left and the Nenana River between them and Mt Healey in the back.

The big, bad, first-ever post
In an act of complete and total unoriginality, I have decided to hop on the blog bandwagon, so to speak, and record some random musings on occassion--maybe even a photograph or two--for posterity's sake. Whether anyone besides me, my shrink, and perhaps the prosecuting attorney and jury will ever read this is uncertain at best (speaking of which, if you're reading this right now, what the hell are you doing? Wouldn't something else--anything else!--be a better use of your time?). But I'm sure Dante was thinking precisely that while he penned that whole Divine Comedy thing...which wasn't that funny, I might add.
And with that rhetorical flourish, the website began. Ok, so things can really only improve from here...
(Even better, and even more like me, I can't even say Im the original author of this post...thanks big bird)
